Spacecrafts has always been seen as extremely expensive systems and this was true until the only customers in the space market were governative agencies. In the last years more and more istitution started focusing on reducing the cost of space missions. This book proposes new and innovative solutions to design and build low cost systems. The goal is to still achieve a high reliability systems but trying to limit their cost. Several solutions are proposed, from component to sub-system and system level. A practical implementation of the proposed solutions is also presented to show the advantages of the new approaches proposed.

Stefano Speretta received a MS degree in Electronic Engineering a PhD from Politecnico di Torino (Italy) in 2006 and 2010. He is now working as RF Systems Engineer at ISIS - Innovative Solutions in Space B.V. (The Netherlands). His main interests include analog and power circuits design, rad-hard design techniques and RF communication systems.
