Part of the agrarian landscapes of this area is still linked today to the functioning of old hydraulic systems. For centuries, these systems are and remain essential for the survival of old peasant lands. Indeed, a large part of the village communities lives mainly of cereals, cultivated mainly in flood lands, but also olive trees, and alfalfa irrigated land. However, in recent years these hydraulic systems have competed with others, more modern, and based on hydraulic performance. Added to the multiplication of dry periods, this new system - pumping - has caused the death of old traditional systems.
