Died in 1902, Abd Ar-Rahman Al-Kawakibi is, however, still present in the memory and writings of contemporary Arab thinkers. The premature death of Al-Kawakibi in mysterious conditions touched all the free militants of the Arab world. Most newspapers of the day mourned the death of the deceased and spoke of poisoning. Al-Kawakibi was nicknamed the martyr of liberty. In fact, for more than a century, he denounced despotism and preached justice, freedom and tolerance. He proposed relevant solutions to problems that continue, until now, to threaten the prosperity and the promotion of Arab peoples such as the hypocrisy of political and religious leaders, social injustice and scientific backwardness.
