A general definition of the term "political party" is not possible, knows! the social sciences at the present time do not lose any attached party theory. This is mainly due to the fact that the term itself includes very complex social causes of action which can not be summarized in a few generalized statements. A brief overview of the various typologies of political parties may clarify this. 1. Typologies of Political Parties In party research, for example, one speaks of workers' parties, blatant and middle-class parties, or of parties, with which statements are made on the social (Wiihler or member) basis, depending on whether a party is predominantly rooted in a particular class or class, or whether its members and voters are balanced in recruiting from several or all classes or classes. The socio-economic and ideological-cultural zones of tradition have made the social base of a party closely related to its territorial basis. For example, in the Protestant and great territorial areas of East-Elbe Prussia, blatant liberalism was unable to prevail against social-reactionary conservatism. In the Rhenish territories, which during the Napoleonic occupation and the close proximity to the bleak revolutionary France were economically and politically strongly influenced by anti-feudal elements,
