وصف الكتاب
In 1916 Mary Richmond laid the foundation for social work as a profession with her book Social Diagnosis. Sixty years later, William Reid developed the task-oriented assistance, in short the TGH model. This edition From Richmond to Reid describes the relationship between theory and practice in task-oriented assistance against the background of the history of social work. A great deal of attention is paid to the actions of social workers and their theoretical underpinnings.TGH is one of the few models for social work with a research history of several decades. Reid and his colleague Epstein laid the theoretical and empirical basis for the working model in the seventies, which focuses on the activation of clients. Aspects such as problem orientation and priority selection, time limit, task development in dialogue with the client, contracting and structured approach took shape step by step. Academics and professionals from the field contributed to the development of TGH. It is often said that social work does not have systematic 'body of knowledge' or validated methodologies. This book makes clear that TGH is indeed based on knowledge from research and has been validated by research. From Richmond to Reid shows how TGH is rooted in the knowledge domain that has been developed since Richmond. The next issue is the publications of the women who went further in the footsteps of Mary Richmond, such as Hamilton, Robinson, Hollis and Perlman. Dutch pioneers such as Muller-Lulofs and Adriani are also receiving attention. An important place is reserved for the work of Marie Kamphuis,
