As fellow expats living in Dubai we have done a wonderful job calling Dubai and the UAE our “New Home”, however as with most expats living in this country, we miss some of the accommodations from home. While there are many good Mexican Restaurants, a real Mexican Taqueria is something that was missing here.
In Mexico, the staple food is Tacos, and Mexicans enjoy going to taquerias at any time of the day; for a good lunch, a quick power snack, dinner, social meetings, and even before, during or after party time.
One of the most popular authentic tacos which are a must at any Taqueria are the “Tacos al Pastor”. The meat is mounted on a “trompo”, similar to a Shawarma, that was introduced to Mexico by the Lebanese immigrants during the 1960s. Our “trompo” recipe consists of layers upon layers of delicious meat flavored with an original and delicious “pastor” family recipe, that is over 35 years in the making.
We try to bring our love for Tacos as well as Mexican food to the different cultures and people of the UAE. In addition, the partners have brought a true Tortilladora that makes fresh Mexican tortillas, the kind that you would find on the streets of Mexico.
Once visiting our restaurant you will be transported to an Urban Mexican street with the sites, smells and sounds that you would find in a true Mexican Taqueria. Our Mexican chefs specialize in “Tacos al Pastor” as well as many different Mexican dishes that will make the most modest of appetites crave for more.
