Thanks to motion sensors, you can move around in a continuous stream of rain, stretch out your hands and take a selfie without getting wet. As soon as the visitor crosses the installation boundary, water stops flowing over him, but continues to flow everywhere around him. The Rain Room is located in Al-Mahhara Park and is a dark underground chamber where the falling jets of water are lit only by a spotlight. 6 visitors are allowed in every 15 minutes. A ticket costs 25 dirhams. It can be ordered in advance through the website.

Description:

The Rain Room is a unique modern art installation, offering an inspirational and magical experience for visitors. Created by the London and Berlin-based Random International, the Rain Room is now permanently located in Sharjah. The installation has been displayed at the world’s most famous museums, including MoMA in New York and Barbican in London.

The experience is centred around audience interaction, enveloping a person in water without wetting them. With 2,500 liters of self-cleaning, recycled water, the Rain Room uses trigger sensors to pause the falling water wherever it senses motion. The contemporary art installation is supported by the Sharjah Art Foundation and is associated with the Sharjah Art Museum.

Many residents and tourists consider the Rain Room one of the best attractions in the city, as it offers an unparalleled experience of calm with the falling of water. A trip here can easily be clubbed with a visit to the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization, the Sharjah corniche and a dining experience at one of the many restaurants nearby.
