I lived nearby, but could not reach. Then I found out that the museum was open until 8 pm, and in the evening I went here. The house is located on the shores of Dubai Creek and is not much different from neighboring old houses. So the grandfather of the current sheikh lived modestly, in a small house, however, with a beautiful view of Dubai Creek. Inside is now a museum. The real situation has not been preserved. The only thing that surprised me was that on top there was an old, no longer working, of course, toilet, and carpet. I don’t know if it has been since that time. But it seems so.

Named after the last ruler of Dubai to live here, Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum’s House gives you a fascinating glimpse of the region’s history. The house was built in 1896 as the residence of Dubai’s ruler, and is a beautifully designed building. The four elegant wind-towers are stunningly simple and iconic.
Today the building is a museum, housing rare historical photos and documents showing how the Dubai Emirate developed. You’ll be transported back to a world before oil, and get to see how Dubai’s ruling family spent their time.
