Good customer service, delicious food and amazing beverages
Unhygienic place, very loud music
Goan Shack is a restaurant located in Royal Ascot Hotel Bur Dubai. It is best specially for Goan and mangalorean people. The ambiance is good and seating arrangements is not much.  Customer service is quick and staff is friendly. I have been here with my friends a couple of times. For the starters, I love the fish cutlets (minced fish mixed with a blend of spice battered and shallow fried), prawns cocktail (jumbo prawns served on a bed of lettuce with cocktail sauce), chicken lollipop (chicken wings marinated in spice red masala deep fried), chicken tikka (chicken marinated with yoghurt and saffron sauce cooked in tandoor served in mint sauce), vegetable spring rolls (lightly spiced crisp vegetable rissoles), paneer Bali Bali (cubes of cottage cheese sautéed in Goan red masala) which are lip smacking dishes. In the soup I had the sweet corn chicken (chicken broth with mashed corn) which is not so tasty. For the main course I enjoyed having the Goan prawn curry (prawns cooked in traditional Goan coconut yellow curry), chicken manchurian (chicken battered cooked with Chinese spice), grilled fillet of hommour (served on banana leaf with sesame, lemon and buttered vegetables), bhendi suka (lady finger cooked with gram flour, onions and mild spices), Goan dal fry (lentil seasoned with cumin, garlic, mustard seeds and red chilies), chicken fried rice are extremely delicious. The parathas go very well in combination with the curries and dal, and hence preferred by us. For desserts I love the cream caramel (egg custard with caramel sauce) which is so yummy. In the beverages, I love fruit punch (mix of mango, orange, pineapple, melon, cranberry) and hot chocolate. The place is somewhat unhygienic. The utensils and cutlery used for dining are clean though! The presentation of the food and beverages is superb. Live Music was bit louder(which I didn't like the most). The dishes are bit pricey but definitely worth a try for the quality and quantity!
