location, design
small portions, high price
We arrived here in the evening to enjoy the Burj Khalifa and the sea in the evening. Madinat is beautiful in the evening. The service is not up to par, waiters have to wait a long time. The portions are small (excluding desserts), prices seemed above average. Greek cuisine, limited menu. I liked broccoli salad and dessert from puff curd dough.

Description:

Greek restaurant

For front row views of Dubai's striking Burj Al Arab Jumeirah you can’t do better than Shimmers. A relaxed beach restaurant, Shimmers serves up modern Greek dishes, so dip into that tzatziki while enjoying the super Dubai sunshine.
The name alone may not scream “Greek cuisine” for this restaurant found on the beaches of Madinat Jumeirah, but the menu certainly makes it clear.
The majority of holiday makers who populate this beachside, whitewashed, entirely outdoor restaurant are probably more than happy to lose track of time, and it’s worth relaxing and sitting back, taking in the view and making a lazy meal of it.
The Greek menu is full of all the tasty classic dishes you’d hope for – moussaka, taramasalata et al.
There are some limelight stealers in there, which are most certainly worth leaning towards, including the feta fourno, a baked dish with typically Greek oils, herbs and tomato on top.
As well as the classics, there are also plenty of interesting seafood dishes, too – have a look for the aubergine and tuna dip, the octopus carpaccio, prawn tartare and more.
The quality of the food is high and with some tasty food and top vistas it’s one that will have you – with your visitors in tow most likely – returning time and again.
A charming spot for a leisurely outdoor meal by day or night.
