I visited this museum with one of my friends and the museum portrays the islamic civilization and how it has evolve during the centuries from all aspects, including art, bookbinding, minting practices, medicine, astrophysics, etc. The museum has some priceless objects and really unique like the elephant clock, the water clock, the chandelier clock and a great collection of medical instruments. The museum is very well organized and the architecture of the building is gorgeous. The staff around the museum were very kind and they guide you very well around the museum. Is really well done and well organized.

The title explains a lot here. Very simple and elegantly made covering most of the Islamic era with artifacts related to science, the painting of different times, and a huge collection of beautiful Quran copies. Must visit the place and there is free parking in front of the building till 8 PM (hence you can walk around the corniche and walk from here to the town center and visit that as well - 15 min walk) Written June 19, 2021

Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization is situated on the beach of Arabian Sea in Sharjah, it has stored the old civilization of Islam and Arab World especially the UAE and Sharjah rulers. the way they wear, eat, work and communicate.

The original intention of my visit was to get a close-up view of the museum’s grand architecture, but the contents exceeded my expectations by far and I think it’s well worth a a relatively short drive from the other Emirates to visit this gem on the Sharjah Corniche. As others have commented, the layout has been well thought-through with different galleries for different themes. The collection of Islamic script from the Quran and the hadiths is fairly extensive, and everything is labeled bilingually in Arabic and English. As a non-Muslim, I thought the illustrations of the Hajj pilgrimage were particularly informative of both the physical terrain and the spiritual perspectives. There is a separate gallery on astronomy, engineering and architecture by Islamic scientists, also with a fairly extensive display of astronomical and navigation equipment. It was an interesting experience for me as, coming from a European education background where this period of history was covered as the Middle Ages or Dark Ages, it was also this same period where advances were made in the Fertile Crescent and which this section of the museum provides some further insights into. The first floor of the museum houses a wide collection of art and artifacts from the Middle East, Andulasia and Persian regions across various periods of history. The way everything was arranged and narrated reminded me of the layout of the V&A in London, and I was very impressed at how the curators of this museum have made the most of showcasing the collection that they have. Certainly merits a repeat visit!

So many interesting slides, amazing adventure Nice experience for all family members. All in all it's a beautifull place for making memories and enjoy your time.
