Many decisions are taken to improve the living conditions of young Haitians, but have not borne fruit. Beneficiaries are not involved. This study aims to show that youth associations contribute to the reduction of poverty in the Municipality of Port-au-Prince. After documentary research, questionnaire surveys and semi-structured interviews with members of associations and youth leaders at the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC), this study shows that active participation of youth associations in the reduction of poverty. However, youth associations face funding problems and are evolving in a situation of legal vacuum that is characterized by almost non-existent involvement in the actions of MJSAC and other official institutions for young people. It is important to make leaders aware of the important role that youth associations can play in youth issues and, moreover, in reducing poverty.
