BIM in Healthcare Infrastructure is a guide to the implementation and application of BIM technology in the planning, design and construction of healthcare infrastructure to improve time- and cost-effectiveness in delivering zero carbon healthcare facilities that have a positive effect on staff and patient health. Starting with an introduction and overview of BIM, the guide goes on to detail the use of BIM in the planning, design and construction of healthcare infrastructure - complex buildings characterised by elaborate building services, structural elements or components and a variety of building systems. The key challenges to implementing BIM in this sector, such as motivating and training staff, overcoming resistance to change and developing the business case are highlighted through the inclusion of international case studies.
