Book Description
How do investment bankers look at financial products? Many books on finance will explain high-level concepts, or give explanations of the legal landscape, or compendious lists of products - but rarely will they get into the details as practiced in an investment bank. People who work in banks do things differently. Many techniques, to this day, are passed on by word-of-mouth. This book will answer questions like? What is the OIS curve - and why is it so popular? What does the 'Product Control' department actually do? How do you create a yield curve in the post-LIBOR world? If you work in a bank (or want to) the answers to questions like these are vital. In The Front Office Manual the authors give the details needed, in a clear and readable way, so the reader can professionally approach solving problems. Focusing on the most important products and concepts used in investment banking, this book provides the building blocks for clear-headed analysis. From yield curves to credit-default swaps - The Front Office Manual is an excellent resource for the details.
