Several studies show that certain workplace stressors negatively affect the mental health of workers. However, some stressors are still poorly understood and, in many cases, studies differ as to their associations with mental health problems. Our work is a literary review of several of these studies and we aim, among other things, to verify the links between psychological distress and certain stressors among primary, secondary and college teachers in Quebec. The results of our study indicate a significant link between psychological distress and certain stressors measured including the physical environment at work, reform and life satisfaction in general. However, their strength of association is moderate. Unlike what the literature and some studies consulted, the sample studied seems to be in a good state of mental health. However, 18% of respondents are at a very high level of psychological distress.
