Book Description
In the post-war years, the sector of the French specialized education is structured and sets standards which will allow the setting up of the future Diploma of educator. The public authorities then need to encourage and orchestrate this coordination process. The group of schools of Assistants and Children's Catholic Monitors (AMCE), which in 1950 includes almost half of the schools of training of educators, multiplies the steps to recognize his training by the State. But despite the efforts made to comply with the new requirements, he is unable to obtain the expected public accreditation and is deprived of the possibility of offering the state diploma to come. This distance is explained by the importance given to religious education in schools? Can one think that their strong identity and their excessive independence have dissuaded the public authorities? Or is it the personality of Canon Edmont Barthélemy, Director General of Schools, who is to blame? These questions are at the heart of the reflection conducted throughout this book.
