About the Author
Farhad Rachidi, Titular Professor and Head of the Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory of EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology), Lausanne, Switzerland Dr Rachidi served as the Vice-Chair of the European COST Action on the Physics of Lightning Flash and its Effects (2005-2009), and the President of the International Conference on Lightning Protection (2008-2014). He is currently Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility, and President of the Swiss National Committee of the International Union of Radio Science (URSI). In 2014 he was conferred the title of Honorary Professor of the Xi'an Jiaotong University in China. Marcos Rubinstein, Professor, University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland, Yverdon, Switzerland Professor Rubinstein is Chairman of the International Project on Electromagnetic Radiation from Lightning to Tall Structures IPLT. He is also Editor-in-Chief of The Open Atmospheric Science Journal. He is the author of over 170 scientific publications in reviewed journals and international conferences, and is a Fellow of the IEEE. Mario Paolone, Associate Professor and head of the Distributed Energy Systems Laboratory of EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology), Lausanne, Switzerland Mario Paolone received the PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Bologna, Italy, in 2002. In 2020 he received Associate Professor eligibility from the Politecnico di Milano, Italy. In 2013 he was the recipient of the IEEE EMC Society Technical Achievement Award, and he is currently Editor-in-Chief of the journal Sustainable Energy, Grids and Networks.
