Book Description
The robustness of a system characterizes the invariance of properties of stability and performance with respect to the inevitable uncertainties affecting the model used to study it. The control problem is to improve and / or guarantee the robust properties. The considered models are linear in time invariant. The uncertainties are real structured parametrics and intervene in rational form. The classes of polytopic and dissipative uncertainties are more particularly taken into account. The studied properties are mainly the stability, the rejection of the disturbances and the transient behavior. The theoretical tools used come from the Lyapunov theory and topological separation. In order to guarantee the performances with the least possible pessimism, Lyapunov functions depending on the parameters are used. The proposed methods are formulated in terms of Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMI) whose digital implementation is now standard. The search results are illustrated on examples.
