Book Description
The smuggling of stolen cars is an activity that has been developing for the past ten years. Embryonic in the early 1990s, it becomes one of the major activities of global organized crime by challenging the border security policies of different countries of the world. In Central Africa, the smuggling of stolen cars is a cross-border criminal activity. It is much more localized on the borders of Gabon, Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea. It is characterized by theft and export of cars, and is growing at the same pace as the official car market. In fact, its development, favored by structural deficiencies and a lack of inter-state cooperation, requires the implementation of real regional policies of struggle where national egoisms no longer have to prevail. This book thus fills a gap that surrounded knowledge on cross-border crime in Central Africa.
