Book Description
In the current context of rapid diffusion of geographic information technologies, the tools of geomatics are no longer reserved for a few technicians but now affect all the actors of the territory (planners, foresters ...). Faced with this proliferation of expert geographic information systems and the growing needs for integrated visions of the territory, many partnership initiatives are emerging. Their aims tend to evolve: from the diffusion of geographical references to the harmonization or even the coproduction of business data. There is a shift in the logic of bringing knowledge to more ambitious goals of knowledge sharing. In this context, this thesis defended at EPFL, aimed to analyze the challenges of this new inter-organizational geomatics. The mobilization of a systemic and socio-cognitive approach makes it possible to envisage a new relationship to territorial knowledge and geographic information. It provides elements of understanding and intervention to accompany the transformation of current collaborative devices into real communities of practice.
