About the Author

Living Language is an imprint of Random House LLC, a Penguin Random House Company. Stamatina Mastorakou was born in Grenoble, France, in 1977. She earned an MA in the history and philosophy of science and technology from the University of Athens, Greece, and in 2008, she earned a PhD in the history of ancient astronomy at the Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine, Imperial College, University of London. Since then Mastorakou has been a junior fellow at Princeton.
