Space is a word that evokes all kinds of places and ideas. He passes for a specification of the geography, for a stakes in the Plastic Arts, for a priori in certain philosophies. This book questions this polysemy and examines different possible conceptions of space, apart from the so-called hard sciences. It is a question of distinguishing how these differences between conceptions of space can enlighten (and not direct) a geographer in his practice of researcher and encourage him to think his work with several intellectual grids of references, or several scales of theorization.
