About the Author
B.K.S. Iyengar was born in India in 1918 and has been teaching yoga for 60 years. Today there are 180 Iyengar Yoga Institutes in 40 countries. Internationally recognized as a leading authority on hatha yoga, B.K.S. has established its relevance to the treatment and cure of many illnesses and stress-related conditions. Iyengar has received many prestigous awards, including Doctor of Science from the United Nations Charter of Peace, Man of the Year in Yoga Education from the American Biographical Institute and the Purna Swasthya Award from the World Federation of Societies of Holistic Medicine. At the age of 90, Iyengar still practices yoga, as well as travelling the world teaching and lecturing. This bestselling title B.K.S.
