The year 2007 marked a milestone in relations between the European Union and Africa. Several important events occurred there. From 7 to 9 December 2007 was held the Lisbon Summit which allowed for the adoption of a partnership between the European Union and Africa, creating a framework of mutually advantageous, "peer-to-peer" relations . In the field of security, the European Union participated in the stabilization of the Democratic Republic of Congo through the EUSEC and EUPOL missions. In the Darfur conflict, she supported the action of the African Union and also decided to deploy troops to Chad and the Central African Republic. At the economic level, while the European Union is providing important aid to Africa making As the largest donor, African countries refused to sign the Economic Partnership Agreements that imposed free trade between the European Union and Africa in several zones. This book seeks to shed light on these three events that have marked the action of the European Union in Africa, in the light of the notion of power.
