Book Description
This work deals with the characterization by the Impedance Spectroscopy method of the impedance of a fuel cell under load and more particularly the evaluation of the influence of humidity on the performance of the battery. A state of the art on the different methods of characterizing the impedance of a battery and the different methods of measuring humidity is made as well as a modeling of the Nexa cell (47 PEMFC cells). The dynamic model described in VHDL-AMS is a model at the macroscopic level taking into account the electrical side of the various cells constituting the stack. The experimental study describes the measurement bench for the impedance characterization of the Nexa cell by Impedance Spectroscopy, as well as the measurement of the humidity at the output of the battery. The complex impedance measurements correlated with those of moisture led us to determine the influence of moisture on the performance of the battery. The agreement between the results of the model and those of the measuring bench, both in DC and AC, is conclusive. The error found at the end of the comparison between the theoretical and experimental results is less than 1.5%.
