Book Description
Pilot training in flight simulator is very expensive. Increasing the simulator's flight instructor's effectiveness to control the simulator with the operation station would give him more time to train and observe pilots during training. The operation station has evolved significantly over time and several researches have focused on improving its usability. However, few researchers have focused on the integration of speech recognition as a means of achieving this usability goal. Several studies in the military and aviation fields show the potential of this technology and the benefits it can bring for various operators. In order to assess the relevance of use this technology at the flight simulator instructor's operating position, an analysis of the human factors involved in the interaction with this technology must be made. This research describes various studies conducted to determine the human factors that impact the integration of voice recognition at the instructor's operating position.
