Book Description
One of the numerous treasures of the handbook collection of the Austrian National Library is the famous Reuner m ust book, which forms part of the 507 manuscript. This is a codex from the beginning of the 13th century, most likely made in the Cistercian Abbey of Reun near Graz. In the last hundred years, this codex has attracted attention, especially because of the sample book it contains. First, Wilhelm Wattenbach dealt with this matter; as second Julius von Schlosser 2. Naturally, the Codex was also included in the manuscript catalog of the Austrian National Library 3. He also appeared on the miniature exhibition held by the then Hofbibliothek in 1901 and was listed in the catalog of this exhibition 4. All this then found its downfall in Hermann Julius Hermann's publication of the German Romanesque manuscripts in Austrian possession, 5 with the strongest emphasis on the art historical element.
