Book Description
In the nineteenth century, in Luxembourg, insinuate that a deputy belongs to a party is felt as an insult. A few years later, at the beginning of the twentieth century, two enemy camps face the Chamber of Deputies and the first partisan organizations are created. This book analyzes how the Luxembourg political space has been structured and political parties have emerged as actors in the political field to the point of being recognized - implicitly - by a reform of the voting system in 1919. It also looks at on the genesis and the process of institutionalization of the three main political parties of the Grand Duchy that are the Luxembourg Socialist Workers Party, the Democratic Party and the Christian Social Party.
