The manuscript of this work was completed in the fall of 1968. The nomination of Bundestag candidates I969 could not therefore be compared with the results of this 1965 study. Press reports, among which the comprehensive cover story of the SPIEGEL from 7.7. In particular, a change in the Social Democratic Party (SPD) deserves particular emphasis. The willingness to openly settle conflicts of interest was considerably greater in this party in 1969 than four years earlier. Other basic patterns of sPD nominations described in this work - such as localism, the lack of interest group proportionality, intensive regional representation, and low political emphasis on the selection of applicants - appear to have been preserved in 1969, too.
