About the Author
Sophia F. Dziegielewski, Ph.D., LCSW, is a Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Central Florida. She is Editor of the Journal of Social Service Research and has written over 150 publications, including eight textbooks, over 90 articles, and numerous book chapters. Dr. Dziegielewski is the recipient of several awards and has presented at numerous professional workshops on health, mental health, and preparation for social work licensing across the country. Throughout her academic career, she has been active in research and the protection of human subjects in health and mental health. She has also been active in clinical practice, maintaining a current license in her field as well as serving as an expert witness in the courts. She has authored several texts in the social work program at UCF, including DSM-5 in Action, now in its third edition (2015). Diane C. Holliman Ph.D., LCSW, is a Professor in the Social Work Department and College of Education & Human Services at Valdosta State University in Georgia. Since she earned her MSW in 1989 she has had practice and research experience in health care, hospital and hospice social work. She has 21 publications in peer-reviewed journals in social work practice and policy. She teaches a special topics course on health care social work.
