Book Description
The radiative space environment is composed of a large variety of particles in a very broad energy spectrum. Effects affecting electronic components include cumulative effects and singular transient singular effects (ASETs). The cumulative effects correspond to a continuous degradation of the electrical parameters of the component. ASETs are caused by the passage of a single particle in the component and generating a voltage pulse. During ground tests, the two effects are studied separately, but they occur simultaneously in flight. There is therefore a synergistic effect, induced by the combination of dose and ASET. A study of the dose-ASET synergistic effect is proposed. A high level model is developed using the circuit analysis to predict the synergistic effect observed on a three-stage aop. Finally, the transient effects induced by an environment of very high pulsed X-ray dose rate (TREEs) as well as the dose-TREE synergy effect are studied. The classical ASET analysis method then makes it possible to explain the shape of the transient pulses observed.
