A mix-use residential development, Al Karama or simply known as Karama is an Arabic word, which means âdignityâ. Close to the Dubai Creek and dubbed as a shopping district, Al Karama is unique from the outside due to the many low-rise residential buildings in the area. Most visitors think Dubai is the home of gigantic skyscrapers, that is not always the case and Al Karama is a testament to that fact. Made on a tight grid system, Al Karama spans a meagre 2 km, yet houses thousands of people, leading it to be one of the most popular areas in Dubai. The community contains many consulates, official buildings and the famous Zabeel Park. Zabeel Park also separates Al Karama from the main Sheikh Zayed Road which leads to the Trade Centre district. You can also find the renovated Burjuman Mall at the edge of the community, it is one of the oldest malls in the emirate.
